YUME ADMIRE

Y U M E (pronounced You-May) is Jesse Taylor, 18 year old DJ/producer from NY, and is one to watch for sure. "Admire" is amazing in my opinion  not for what it evokes when listening to it (feels like you're in a dream floating through space), but for the deft incorporation of so many different styles/genres. Hiphop style beats, transient soundscapes, and a sparkly melody that pops up here and there. Get lost in it.

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE :: RHYE OPEN RYAN HEMSWORTH REMIX

Here's a chill one to ease you into your Saturday. Ryan Hemsworth debuts a nice rework of Rhye's "Open" (Her album "Woman" just came out March 5th). Hot off of his trippy remix of Lana Del Ray's "Summertime Sadness", he totally delivers with this mix.

Mellow and kind of sleepy he scatters some minimal dance elements throughout the top of the track. The bass is where it's at with this one though. It's stupid catchy and gets stickier and stickier as the track progresses. Listen to it kick in around 0:41- it's a melter.

LETS GET WEIRD :: LOOP CITY SAY YES

This find was pure dumb luck. I was looking for some more mellow tunes for the night and this one nailed it. "Say Yes" is a creeper for sure, slowly building over the track with a supremely satisfying yet subtle climax. The really soft warble bass line is very nice touch. This one will definitely leave you wanting more. 

Loop City is Billy Kenny and Danny Wade. They chillout in Leeds, Britain. That is all I know.

GHOST LOFT SECONDS

I guess I'm a little late to this one, but here it is regardless. He (I'm guessing) has a super relaxed almost lazy approach to how he structures this track and it makes for a nice combination of wanting more and being completely content. Just listen to it.

FOALS SPANISH SAHARA RAMI DEEJAY EDIT

Brooklyn based Rami Deejay takes this down tempo track and transforms it into an inspiring solution for whatever you might need. Slow builds, restraint, and some nice climaxes. Highly recommended.

Nice remix from Gábor Deutsch (anORGANIK) of James Blake's Retrograde. It's a nice ambient addition to an already mellow song. 

Deutsch splits his time between Budapest and Berlin and produces his own music under various alias' (each representing a different genre). Check out his bio here.
