NAOMI PILGRIM NO GUN

Swedish songstress Naomi Pilgrim brings us her new single No Gun which is a mix of funky garage and blues wrapped up in a nice little pop package. Off beat and quirky in a decidedly non-indie way, we can't wait to hear more from her EP due sometime this fall.

MAROON 5 LOVE SOMEBODY PENGUIN PRISON REMIX

Go ahead and front all you want about not liking or listening to pop music. There is a reason this shit is infectious and the page views don't lie. Chris Glover aka Penguin Prison doubles up that sentiment with his just-out remix of Maroon Five's Love Somebody. Glover adds his signature poppy synths and well rehearsed breaks to make an entirely new song, using cuts of Levine's vocals to make up part of the melody for the track. It's catchy as hell and if your body doesn't start moving you just might be dead inside. So you should probably check on that.

MEREKI BLUE LAKE

This is LA based Mereki. She is adorable and makes adorable music. Her new single Blue Lake is catchy as hell and has this amazing synth - electro vibe going on. She takes all these familiar elements: 80's ish pop melodics, synth, pop lyrics, and mixes them in a refreshing and subtle way. The beat stays very slow and steady which lets the vocals and synth more around with some freedom. It's good, it's Sunday, it's science - just go with it.

SAY LOU LOU JULIAN

Continuing with the synth-pop lady time going on over here, we bring you Aussie/Swedish sisters Say Lou Lou and a remix of their fairly recent song Julian. While I'm partial to the original, Monsieur Adi does a nice job of spicing it up while leaving the dreamy nature of the song still intact. Take a listen below!

THE KNOCKS MODERN HEARTS FT. ST. LUCIA

NYC electro-boys the Knocks release this sweet summer single with St. Lucia's Jean-Phillip Grobler on the vocals. It's disco infused indie rock and I love it. Throwback-esque and it still holds it's own. The track officially released a few days ago and is available on all the usual sources.

MICHAEL JACKSON REMEMBER THE TIME LOUIS LA ROCHE REMIX

Get your afternoon jam on with a classic MJ remixes by my future UK BF Louis La Roche. Remember The Time gets a dunk in the funk and it's rad. If you aren't familiar with La Roche scope him out on soundcloud (link below) - he's well worth the listen.

ROBIN THICKE BLURRED LINES FT T.I. & PHARRELL

This is what JTim's new album should have sounded like. Too bad. Robin Thicke gets his sexy on with the awesome new single "Blurred Lines". Pharrell and T.I. add their usual class, and it looks like they're having a damn good time. DUH, I love it. It's sexy pop at it's best: great production and execution from song to video.

VANCE JOY RIPTIDE

Who is ready for a guilty pleasure indie-folk-pop summer single from melbourne based artist Vance Joy. It's his second off of the debut album 'God Loves You While Your Dancing'. Basically this song can be likened to kitten youtube videos. His vocals and music remind me a lot of Matt Costa in how light and up beat they are. Pretty adorable. Out now on Liberation Music. Check it all out below.

There is also a stupid cute video involving a ukelele. NBD.

SWISS LIPS U GOT THE POWER MONSIEUR ADI REMIX

Let's freaking get down! Monsieur Adi has some definite French Touch influences (esp. Daft Punk), and he uses them well and with restraint. MA is one of the most active djs that I currently follow too, he's all over The Hype Machine popular charts and blows up FB all the time. It looks like his hard work is paying off though which is awesome. He's refined and established his sound and delivers it impeccably. He is a pleasure to my ears.

ENERATE UNSTOPPABLE

So you might listen to this and be all like, "WTF is being posted up in here!?" and I will totally understand. That was my reaction too. If you are in a bad mood just scroll right past this one. If you are in the right mood though (chipper and/or optimistic and shit) - it's gonna be golden. It's like sunshine with space synths and bops and everything a grumpy person would hate.

Enerate are out of Australia and this is their pre-release single.

ANDY BULL KEEP ON RUNNING

Andy Bull reminds me of FUN and Mika and JJ (awesome song btw) all smooshed together and rolled into an Australian pop artist. I like that it is formulaic enough to make it catchy, but super disjointed and almost jolty in how it's all laid out. Super fun, super good.

FENECH-SOLER MAIYU

3AM pool hopping.

Here is the latest one from Fenech-Soler, the hiptastic UK quartet - that'll be out on their upcoming album. Maiyu is a perfect glittery spring-time jam à la MGMT or Two Door Cinema Club. It's well done electro-pop with a sweet base line and some delicious synth melodies. Eat it up.

LET'S GET WEIRD :: LITTLE FREAKY THINGS WHAT A BAD DAY THE SHOES REMIX

I promise it's not emo.

OH EM GEE! This song blew my face off when I heard it today. The Shoes BRILLIANTLY and weirdly remix the parisian duo Little Freaky Things, (Nicolas Nekmouche aka Donovans & French singer/songwriter Maï-Lan Chapiron) "What A Bad Day". THEN I found their song Nightfall. It's like 90's trash-pop and 70's disco had a funky hot baby. They're perfect and sweaty and weird and I can't stop listening.

DAUGHTER MEDICINE SOUND REMEDY REMIX

I'm going to file this under guilty pleasure. Sound Remedy turns Daughter's sleepy "Medicine" into a  massive pop wonderland and I love it. Like all-day-get-the-chills-and-smile-love-it. It's just so well done. Even if it's not your thing you've got to hand it to the guy - he kills it with this mix.

LE YOUTH COOL

LA based DJ and producer Le Youth (Wes James) comes out with new song "Cool". Sounds like tropical sunshine at a disco. Sampled from Cassie Ventura's 2006 track "Me & U". Basically: Dang.
